BIANCA VALENCIA CRISCUOLO

Bianca, raised in the small country town of Easton CT, moved to NY for school and spent her early 20s living in Brooklyn NY attending PARSONS School of Design as an Illustration major with a scholarship from The Beijing Contemporary Arts Foundation

Upon graduating with a BFA from PARSONS, Her dedication to arts shifted from pure self narrative exploration to the conceptual. With work looking what what it means to bridging a gap between the spiritual and physical with heavy influence from works and writings by artist such as Makoto Fujimura, William E Carney, Guang-Yu Zhang and Peter Deligdisch. This visual language was further developed as she found transformational vision for art through her Ambassador work with Embers International as an Artist Advocate, and training with the IAM Culture Care (formerly International Art Movement); Academy Kintsugi culture care initiative.

Working as Operations Manager with the Interdisciplinary Artist Collective: Call to Gather under the vision of “Come. Make. Play.” Bianca Valencia Criscuolo has found this return to a childlike space of play imperative to her work process.
