The Artist

SFX and character artist working across television, film, editorial, music videos and fashion.

Sarah-Anton Visina of Visina Visions is an SFX and character artist driven by storytelling. Dyslexic, gay and gender fluid (they/them), Sarah finds truth and authenticity in the way their brain sees the world differently, and that perspective is the power behind their ideas.

The path started young, with a jewelry-making and caricature business run at craft shows before they had left school, then coursework in lost-wax casting. It runs on through a BFA in Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, specialising in foundry work, into silicone casting, then to making medical prosthetics as an Anaplastologist at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, and finally to a Master Make-Up Artistry diploma from Make-Up Designory in New York.

They now run a commercial SFX lab, working across television, film, editorial, music videos and fashion, in genres spanning beauty, surrealism, science fiction and fantasy. The practice covers character design and custom prosthetics, SFX injuries, bald caps and applied hair, props and gags, lab work and 2D work.
